This workshop, led by Drew Reynolds (Encounter GA, a state-level initiative of the Catholic Climate Covenant’s Encounter for Our Common Home Campaign), seeks to equip Catholic leaders, Care for Creation teams, and ministry volunteers with the tools and training needed to guide their parish in nonpartisan environmental advocacy efforts that are grounded in Catholic Social Teaching and shaped by the See–Judge–Act model.
- See (Listen): Learn how to explore the signs of the times by identifying environmental issues impacting your community, from air and water pollution to energy burdens and climate-related displacement.
- Judge (Discern): Reflect on these issues through the lens of Catholic teaching, especially Laudato Si’, the principles of subsidiarity and solidarity, and the preferential option for the poor.
- Act: Discover practical steps for launching or strengthening parish-based advocacy initiatives, including how to lead listening sessions, organize community events, meet with policymakers, and engage parishioners of all ages in care for creation.
Whether your parish is just getting started or ready to deepen its impact, this workshop offers a step-by-step roadmap to faithfully and effectively advocate for our common home.
