Laudato Si’ Week 2026 is an invitation for Catholics around the world to turn faith into action for our common home. As we celebrate this global week of prayer and action, Catholic Climate Covenant and Laudato Si’ Movement invite individuals, families, and parishes to respond with hope rooted in the Gospel.
More than ten years after Laudato Si’, the call to hear “the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor” remains urgent. Climate change, pollution, and environmental injustice continue to affect vulnerable communities first and worst. Yet our faith reminds us that transformation is possible when we act together.

Faith Calls Us to Care
Care for creation is not separate from Catholic life — it is part of how we love God and our neighbors. Ecological conversion begins with prayer, gratitude, and a willingness to live differently.
This Laudato Si’ Week, Catholics everywhere can take meaningful steps toward healing our relationship with creation and one another.
Here are a few ways to participate this week:
Pray and Reflect
- Include creation care intentions in Mass or personal prayer
- Read and discuss passages from Laudato Si’
- Host a parish prayer service or Rosary for creation
Care for Creation
- Reduce food and plastic waste at home
- Plant trees, pollinator gardens, or native plants
- Organize a parish or neighborhood cleanup
Advocate for Justice
- Support policies that protect vulnerable communities and ecosystems
- Contact elected leaders about climate and environmental justice
- Learn from Indigenous and frontline communities
Build Community
- Start a creation care ministry or team at your parish
- Join local or global Laudato Si’ initiatives
- Encourage young people to lead climate action projects
A Prayer for Laudato Si’ Week
Gracious Creator,
You call us into encuentro —
to meet one another with compassion,
to walk alongside those most affected by environmental harm,
and to recognize all creation as sacred and connected.
Open our hearts to the cry of the earth
and the cry of the poor.
Teach us to live simply, act justly,
and care tenderly for our common home.
May our faith move us from comfort to courage,
from indifference to solidarity,
and from hope to action.
Guide our communities to protect the gifts of water, air, land, and life,
so that future generations may flourish in peace and dignity.
Through Christ, who reconciles all creation to You.
Amen.

Hope Becomes Action
Every action — no matter how small — can become a sign of hope. A community garden, an energy-saving project, or a shared prayer service can help build a more just and sustainable future.
