Sister Rosemary Moynihan currently serves as Vice-President for Mission Integration and as a clinician with the Adult Outpatient Behavioral Health staff at Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health (RWJBH) Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
Her previous ministry includes serving as General Superior of the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth in Convent Station, New Jersey, from 2011 to 2019. Earlier, Sister Rosemary held the role of Director of Ecology and Global Ministries for the Bon Secours Health System in Marriottsville, Maryland, overseeing HIV/AIDS international outreach programs in Haiti, Peru, and South Africa and supporting the health system’s environmental sustainability initiatives. Additional professional experience includes serving as Manager of Community Mental Health at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey, focusing on HIV/AIDS programs; eight years on the General Council for the Sisters of Charity; and 16 years in Social Work and Social Work Administration at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Her community volunteer work includes serving as Trustee, Chair, and Chair Emerita of St. Elizabeth’s University in Morristown, New Jersey. She also served on the Board of Directors of Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut, from 2011 to 2024, where she co-chaired the Patient Quality & Safety Committee.
Other contributions include participation on the Catholic Hospital Association’s International Outreach Committee, chairing the Board of Directors of the Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB) in New York City, and involvement with the Beloved Community Initiative in Madison, New Jersey.
Sister Rosemary holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the College of Saint Elizabeth, a Master of Science in Social Work with Distinction from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Social Work from New York University.
