I serve as Catholic Climate Covenant’s Social Media Manager and Young Adult Mobilization Program Assistant. I am also a PhD student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison studying Catholics and climate change activism through the lens of organizational sociology and social movements. I am a young Catholic myself, eager to mobilize Catholics of all ages for bold and urgent action to address the climate crisis.
Although the complexities and ideological intricacies of climate change can be overwhelming at times, I find that my work at the Covenant provides me with a very real sense of hope — I see Catholics pouring time, energy, and love into caring for our common home every day. I am also reminded that as I work for justice and peace on earth as it is in heaven, it’s not for me to shoulder alone: “it may be incomplete, but it is a beginning, a step along the way, an opportunity for the Lord’s grace to enter and do the rest.” Because after all, we are prophets of a future not our own.
