Diocese Promotes St. Francis Pledge Through Social Media
Diocese of Providence, RI
The Diocese of Providence, RI is fulfilling the LEARN part of the St. Francis Pledge to “educate others on the causes and moral dimensions of climate change.” The Diocese prominently features the St. Francis Pledge to Care for Creation and the Poor on their blog inviting people to take the Pledge. Their blog states: In response to Pope Benedict XVI’s call for a united and conscious Catholic response to climate change, environmental harm, and depletion of natural resources, the Diocese of Providence invites Rhode Island individuals and congregations to engage in various initiatives focused on caring for creation and the poor. Additionally, the Diocese has created a Diocese of Providence: Caring For Creation Facebook page to give further visibility to the St. Francis Pledge.
